She's in excellent condition. Have they preserved any of the US built examples on this line? That would be an interesting contrast.

There's one Baldwin built 0-6-0T from 1912 in operation here as well.

It is, and is a cultural heritage to the Meiji period. I love Japan's early British-built locomotives.

Neither would I. Japan is mountainous, and has many trees you'll find elsewhere in Asia and Europe.
